Preventative medicine is our goal at Mosman Vet. An annual health check is one of the most important services we can provide for your pet, and allows us to gain valuable insight into their changing health.
As you know, our pets age far more quickly than us, so for them time really flies and things can change rapidly! An annual physical exam, alongside regular blood-screening, allows us to pick up on medical problems early. We also take the opportunity at your pet’s annual visits to ask questions about how they are doing at home, and discuss any concerns you may have.
As our pets move into their senior years, it becomes even more important for them to see their vet regularly. For our patients aged 7 years and over, we recommend 6-monthly vet visits, and annual health screening. Due to the rapid progression of some diseases, these frequent visits allow us to get ahead of any arising problems, and treat them in the most effective way, providing a better outcome for you and your pet.
Particularly in our older pets, it’s important to keep updated tabs of how they are at home, and if you notice anything new. Symptoms like drinking and urinating more frequently can be signs of more involved diseases, and definitely something your vet wants to hear about! If you notice something new, let your vet know at your pet’s next visit.
Our clients want to know how to look after their pets in the best possible way – allowing them to live long, happy lives. So at Mosman Vet, we take our goal towards preventative medicine very seriously. If you have any questions about our health screening, annual or 6-monthly health checks, or if you would like to book your pet in with a vet, just call our friendly team on (02) 9960 2856.
