Parasite Prevention

Protect your pet from fleas, ticks, worms, and heartworm, year-round.

Parasites can cause serious illness in pets and, in some cases, even affect the people around them. Prevention is simple, affordable, and far safer than treating an active infestation. At Mosman Vet, we’ll recommend the right products and schedule for your pet’s age, size, and lifestyle.

Why Prevention Matters

Parasites don’t take a season off — and neither should your pet’s protection. Some cause irritation and discomfort. Others can lead to major illness or even be fatal. Regular parasite prevention is a small step that makes a huge difference.

We’ll tailor a plan that fits your pet, avoids duplication, and works for your routine.

Parasites

Types of Parasites We Protect Against

Flea icon

Fleas

Cause itching, allergies, and skin infections. Can transmit tapeworms and spread quickly through homes.

Tick icon

Ticks

Paralysis ticks are common in Mosman year-round, not just in ‘tick season’. They inject a toxin that can cause weakness, difficulty breathing, and death if untreated.

Intestinal worm icon

Intestinal Worms

Include roundworm, hookworm, whipworm and tapeworm. Some can infect humans — especially children — if not properly controlled.

Heart worm icon

Heartworm

Transmitted by mosquitoes. Larvae migrate to the heart and lungs, causing serious, sometimes fatal disease. Prevention is easier and far safer than treatment.
